This page includes a link to simple tutorial for OpenAL written using Visual Studio Community. This is currently work in progress so please visit this page again.
OpenAL is a cross-platform audio library that can be used with computer games and any other applications that need sound. It can run on a number of systems including Windows and iPhone.
The example simply reads a PCM audio file into memory and parses that file in order to associate it with a sound buffer and allow it to be played. The code is minimal and you are welcome to use it in your own programs under the zlib license.
To use this project add Tutorials_OpenAL.vcproj to your solution. Remember to add new libraries to your dependencies using right button “References…”. Finally, you will need to link with the openal32.lib which is distributed as part of the OpenAL SDK.
